Getting started
What is muno mirror™?
muno mirror™ is an at-home blood test that measures 250+ immune and inflammation proteins, benchmarks every one against a healthy reference, and tracks how they move over time. It is built for people whose standard labs keep coming back 'normal' while they clearly are not well, and it is delivered as a monitoring service through the muno app rather than as a one-off test.
Who is muno mirror™ for?
People living with post-viral and inflammatory conditions, Long COVID, ME/CFS, MCAS, POTS, fibromyalgia and similar, especially those who have been told their labs look 'normal' while they clearly do not feel well. It is not a longevity-optimization test aimed at already-healthy people. It is built for the ones who have been dismissed.
My blood tests always come back 'normal.' Will muno mirror™ actually show anything?
Often, yes. A standard panel measures around 15 general markers and only flags you when one falls outside a broad reference range. muno mirror™ measures 250+ immune and inflammation proteins, many of them cytokines and chemokines that routine assays cannot detect at all, and reads each one against a healthy reference distribution. That is how it surfaces patterns a 'normal' CBC or metabolic panel will never show.
I'm afraid it will just come back normal too. What then?
That fear is the whole reason muno exists, and we take it seriously. muno mirror™ measures proteins standard panels never run, at a sensitivity routine labs do not have, and reads them against a healthy distribution rather than a wide 'normal' band. We cannot promise in advance what your result will be. What we can promise is that a result close to healthy will never be turned into 'there is nothing wrong with you.' It is one more objective data point in a picture you own, not a verdict on whether you are sick.
Does muno mirror™ replace my doctor?
No. muno mirror™ is a profiling and monitoring service, not medical care and not a replacement for your physician. It gives you and your clinician objective data to work with. Keep your doctor, and bring your results into that relationship.
Can it diagnose my Long COVID, ME/CFS, MCAS or POTS?
No. muno mirror™ is a research and early-access profiling service, not a diagnostic test, and it does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition. What it gives you is an objective, comprehensive picture of your immune and inflammation biology, the kind of data that is hard to come by in these conditions, that you and your doctor can factor into your care.
What we measure
What exactly do you measure?
250+ immune and inflammation proteins across seven biological areas: core inflammatory cytokines, the interferon and antiviral signature, T-cell and immune regulation, the mast cell and allergy axis, chemokines and immune trafficking, TNF-superfamily signaling, and growth and vascular signals. You can see every category, with example markers and what each one reflects, on the What we test page.
How is this different from the bloodwork my doctor orders?
Your doctor's panel checks a handful of common markers against broad 'normal' ranges. muno mirror™ runs an ultra-sensitive assay across 250+ immune and inflammation proteins and benchmarks every one against a healthy reference distribution, so you see not just 'in range / out of range,' but how far you diverge and in which direction, and how that shifts each time you re-test.
Isn't 'normal' the same as healthy? Why does the reference range matter?
The 'normal' range on a standard lab is deliberately wide, so a value can sit inside it and still be far from where you feel well. muno mirror™ reads each marker against a healthy reference distribution and against your own baseline over time, so the question becomes how far you have moved and in which direction, not simply whether you cleared an arbitrary cutoff.
Is this like functional-medicine testing? Is it actually validated?
No. This is not a functional-medicine panel with loose, unvalidated ranges. muno mirror™ runs in a CLIA-certified laboratory on clinical-grade multiplex affinity proteomics, reports absolute concentrations wherever possible, and validates markers individually against established clinical literature. The whole point is rigor: the accuracy and reference ranges that make a result trustworthy, not another test that reads 'high' because you ate a banana that morning.
How accurate is it?
The platform detects low-abundance immune proteins down to the femtogram-per-milliliter range, sensitive enough to quantify cytokines at a true healthy baseline, not only in acute illness. More than 150 of the 250 markers are reported as absolute concentrations, with reproducibility (single-digit coefficients of variation) suited to tracking the same person over time.
Do you test ferritin, thyroid, or full MCAS mediators?
muno mirror™ focuses on the immune and inflammation proteome: cytokines, chemokines, interferons, TNF-superfamily proteins, immune receptors, and the mast cell and allergy axis. It is the layer standard panels never touch, not a replacement for a ferritin or thyroid panel. If you want those specific markers, keep running them with your doctor; muno measures what those tests leave out.
Collecting your sample
Does the collection hurt? Do I have to go to a clinic?
No needle and no clinic visit. You press a small device to your upper arm for a couple of minutes, a painless at-home microsample, then drop it in the prepaid return mailer. That is the entire collection.
How much blood do you need?
Only a few drops. The platform is built around a microsample of roughly 10 microliters, which is what makes painless, at-home, mailed-in collection possible in the first place.
Do I need insurance or a doctor's referral?
Neither. You order directly, with no insurance and no referral required, and your results are yours to keep and to share with any clinician you choose.
Where is muno mirror™ available?
muno mirror™ currently ships within the United States only. We will expand from there; if you are outside the US and want to be notified, reach us at contact@muno.bio.
Your results, and what to do with them
What do I actually get back?
A personalized muno mirror™ dashboard in the muno app: your value on every marker, plotted against the healthy reference and against your own baseline, with plain-language context for what each one reflects. Re-test and you get a trend line across every panel you have taken, plus a personal health agent that helps you make sense of it.
How long until I get my results?
Plan on about three to four weeks from when the lab receives your microsample. It is not instant, and that is on purpose: every result is reviewed by our research team before it is released to you, rather than auto-generated and sent unchecked. We keep you updated by email along the way.
Is my report reviewed by a person, or is it automated?
By a person. Before your results are released, they are reviewed by a muno researcher from our Stanford-based science team, not generated by a machine and sent without a look. This is scientific review for quality and interpretation. It is not a medical diagnosis, and it does not replace your own doctor.
It feels like 'just data.' Will it actually tell me anything useful?
That is the complaint we built against. muno mirror™ is not a spreadsheet of numbers with no plan. Every marker comes with plain-language context, and the muno app pairs your results with a personal health agent that helps you interpret them and track change over time. It will not diagnose you or prescribe treatment, but it will show you which parts of your immune biology are skewed and, on re-test, whether what you are trying is actually moving them.
How is 'healthy' defined?
Every marker is read against reference distributions we build ourselves, combining established public reference data with in-house cohorts we have assembled, so your result is interpreted against real population biology rather than an arbitrary cutoff.
Will my doctor take this seriously?
It is built to be clinician-credible. muno mirror™ runs in a CLIA-certified lab and reports absolute concentrations wherever possible, which are directly comparable against clinical reference ranges and over time, rather than the relative, hard-to-interpret numbers that make some consumer tests easy to dismiss. Many members bring their report to their GP or specialist as an objective starting point.
Can I share my results with my own doctor?
Yes, and it is designed for exactly that. You can export your report and bring it to any clinician. The results are yours.
Why do I need to re-test? What is the 'monitoring' part?
A single test gives you a baseline. The real value is over time: re-test every few months through the changes you make, and the trend line shows, objectively, what is working for your biology and what is not. muno is built as a monitoring service, not a one-time snapshot, because in these conditions the change over time is the signal.
Pricing and membership
How much does it cost?
A single muno mirror™ is $499, with free shipping and no insurance needed. That is one transparent price for a 250+ protein immune panel, benchmarked and tracked, not a fragmented stack of specialist visits and out-of-pocket tests.
Is muno mirror™ HSA or FSA eligible?
Not at this time. muno mirror™ cannot currently be paid for with HSA or FSA funds. You order directly, with no insurance needed and no referral required.
Is this a subscription I can't escape? Do you sell supplements?
No and no. You can buy a single test with no subscription at all. Membership is optional, exists only to make re-testing cheaper, and can be cancelled in one click with no future charges. muno does not sell supplements and there is no upsell: you pay for the measurement, not an open-ended protocol.
What is the Muno Bio Membership?
Membership is the lowest price per test: retest every 6 months, two tests a year, for 10% off every test ($449 instead of $499), plus the muno app to track symptoms and interventions over time and priority access to new panels. That is $100 less a year than two single tests. Cancel anytime, with no future charges.
What's your refund policy?
You can request a full refund any time before your kit ships, no questions asked, and subscriptions can be cancelled in one click. If you would rather keep your spot in the queue than wait, you can instead take 10% back to your original payment method.
Your data and privacy
Is my data private? Do you sell it?
Your results live in your secure Muno+ account and are never sold. Contributing de-identified data to research is part of how muno works, because moving the science forward for these conditions is the whole point. Sharing identifiable data, or joining a specific study, is always your choice, and we share only the minimum needed to process your order and run the service. See our Privacy Policy for the details.
Can I delete my data?
Yes. You can request deletion of your personal data at any time, and we will delete or anonymize it in line with our Privacy Policy and applicable law. Your data is yours.
